The Author - Christopher Fettes
An actor and theatre director, Christopher Fettes was one of the founders of Drama Centre, London and personal assistant to Yat Malmgren. He has written this volume as a detailed account of Yat Malmgren's masterly achievement.
As an actor, his first professional engagement of substance was with Joan Littlewood at Stratford East, before joining the English Stage Company at the invitation of Tony Richardson for their opening season at the Royal Court Theatre.
His professional productions as a director include Christopher Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus, with the legendary Pat Magee in the role of Mephistopheles, that ran for a complete year in the West End of London, and The Lonely Road by Arthur Schnitzler, with Antony Hopkins and Colin Firth. He was also responsible for the first productions ever presented on the professional stage in Great Britain, of Racine’s Britannicus and Bérénice with Sheila Gish.
